What Subject Should You Blog About?

Mariella Posted by Mariella

Confused

Everybody wants to blog nowadays. And I can’t exactly blame them –blogging really is fun, if you’re truly passionate about your topic. But then again, not everyone knows what they want to blog about. It might be a long way to finding the perfect niche for you, but hopefully, with thought and perseverance, you’ll find the right one.

Here are some options to choose from:

1. Write What You Truly Know

Want to blog? Sit down, get a pen and paper and start writing down what topics you’re especially interested in. There are people who’re innately attracted to or passionate about specific topics. However, there are those who dabble in so many things they don’t know in-depth information about the topics. If you’re that kind of person, you can…

2. Write You’re Most or Currently Interested In

Say, for example, you like different arts, sports and tech-related subjects. However, as of the moment, you’re immersed in only one specific topic (i.e., gadgets). Since you’re currently focused on that topic, you might want to consider blogging about it since you’re reading up or learning about it anyways. Won’t it be great if you learn more about what you’re currently dabbling in than what you learned about all the others? It would also be a nice angle to your blog when you’re tackling a topic you’re currently experimenting in.

3. Write About What You Hate

No, really, it works if you have the right attitude. Do you know there’s a guy who blogs about his most dreaded thing in the world — Hello Kitty? And based on what I’ve observed, his blog seems to be quite a hit. If you decide to go this route though, be prepared to encounter trolls, haters and contentious readers.

I mostly went by the first route for all my own blogs. I have, however, also tried going the second route. I’m yet to see if the third will bring me success. Who knows? Maybe I should try snarky writing out soon — it can’t be too bad, right? What about you?
