Monetizing Blogs for Christmas
Posted by Mariella

I know it’s only November, but there’s only a few days left before December rolls in and then it’s Christmas time! Even now decorations are going up and as every day goes by, I can feel Christmas lingering in the air a bit more than yesterday. Last year, I was able to celebrate the Holidays quite enjoyably with nothing to worry about. This year, however, having forayed into the world of blogs, I was thinking of how I can cash in on the season further. And just like malls that go on sale during the season, you can earn because of the Holidays too. Here are some tips:
1. Write About The Holidays
The most obvious thing, isn’t it? Write about the Christmas holidays relative to your niche. So, for example, you blog about gadgets, write about gadgets for Christmas. People are more likely to view your entries if they’re related to that time of the year. And since you’re aiming to drive more visitors to the site anyhow, I think it’s a win-win situation — you get to enjoy the holidays and earn from it too.
2. Sell Items Related to the Holidays
If you are up to doing some hard business, you can whip up items related to your niche and start selling them through your blogs. For example, if you blog about knitting, sell some Christmas-themed scarves or mittens.
3. Search for Christmas Products from Your Affiliates
If you are currently using some affiliate programs, browse through their collection to see if they offer some Christmas-theme products. If they do, display them on your web site openly so anyone can purchase them.
4. Do Contests
Contests are always good for blogs and what better time to do it than the holidays? You can conduct a holiday themed contest and gain traffic, exposure and consequently, earnings in the process.
