A List of 8 Lists All Bloggers Should Read

Mariella Posted by Mariella

Two months ago, I gathered a list of articles for my post; How Not To Suck at Blogging. That time, the list was comprised of several articles targeting the newer bloggers. This particular list will deal with articles I think bloggers of all levels should take a look at, and ultimately (because I know you’re all busy with your own blogs), read. All the featured articles below are list articles. Lists within a list; can’t get any better than that. Everything’s archived in either Performancing or Problogger.

1. 27 Tips for Building a Kick-Ass Blog by Ahmed Bilal of Performancing

This should be the code for all bloggers. As someone I know is wont to say, “That’s not advice, that’s education.” It talks, in length, of how bloggers could succeed. It also links to various resources essential for bloggers along with Ahmed’s meaty discussion.

2. 21 Ways to Build a Better Blogger by Ahmed Bilal of Performancing

Another masterpiece by Ahmed. If the first one entails what you should do to better your blog, this one gives advice on how to be a better blogger.

3. 11 Reasons to Write When You’ve Misplaced Your Passion by Liz Strauss of Performancing

I swear, this is one of my worst problems. She starts the article with “No One Has Passion Every Day.” It can’t be any truer than that. No matter how much you love a subject, you’ll have off-days, bad days, grumy days, and days when you just plain can’t think. Reality can be a sad, sad thing people. Fortunately, Liz gives us tips on how to tackle off-days.

4. How I Make Money from Blogs – My Top Earners by Darren Rowse of ProBlogger

Darren lists the ways on how he makes money off of blogs. Not everything’s applicable to ordinary bloggers, but majority is. You probably have heard of most of them, but for the newer bloggers who’ve no idea how to monetize their blog, this is a good read.

5. Which WordPress Plugins Do You Use? By Darren Rowse of ProBlogger

This article, obviously, features the different WordPress plug-ins Darren uses. By no means are these the ONLY plug-ins available or useful to you, but if in case you have no idea what plug-ins you can use, take a look and see for yourself.

6. 46 Tax Deductions that Bloggers Often Overlook by Kelly Phillips Erb from (http://www.taxgirl.com)Tax Girl as guest blogger in ProBlogger

A comprehensive list of tax deductions you can use to save yourself more than just a couple of bucks. Take note, unless your tax bureau tells you so, this is applicable to everyone, not just US residents. Kelly lists everything from backup drives to SEO services. Take a look; there might be something you have missed the last time you paid your taxes.

7. Using Categories and Tags Effectively on Your Blog by Michael Martin from Pro Blog Design as guest blogger in ProBlogger

Michael gives tips on how to utilize and take advantage of the very handy categories/tags feature of your blog platforms.

8. Minimalist Blogging by Leo Babauta of Zen Habits as guest blogger in Problogger

If you have a small amount of time in your hands and you know you just can’t spend 10000+ hours every single day to dedicate to your blogs, this is the perfect read. Leo gives tips on how to make sure you condense your blogging duties in the shortest amount of time possible.

And that makes my list of 8 lists all bloggers should read. I hope we’ve all gleaned useful information and knowledge from each of them; enough to make every one of us better bloggers.
